Derlin is a plastic obtained by formaldehyde polymerization. The high crystalline structure of the oxygen and methylene groups in it provides a high degree of stiffness and rigidity even without the addition of any reinforcing material-structure. resistant to alkalis and hot water. It is resistant to commonly used organic solvents, petroleum products and most mineral oils.
